A Declicious Raw Vegan Holiday Treat!
A healthy superfood version of a well-loved classic.
(all Organic & Raw)
3 cups spring water
1/2 cup Bliss Shake - Vanilla Hemp
5 large soft pitted dates
1-2 ripe bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
1⁄8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup raw macadamia nuts (optional - for a thicker consistency)
Add all ingredients to a high power blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness to taste with sweetener of choice.

For The Bliss Bar this was the first official event where Keval and I were introducing our new Organic Raw Superfood energy bar "The Bliss Bar". We had the opportunity first hand to really receive customer and peer feedback about some of our new flavors like Coconut Goji Green Tea and Chia Mulberry. The results are in and Coconut Goji Green Tea was by far the crowd pleaser, and what we noticed was the blissful oooh's and aaah's, always a joyous response. Some people were a bit confused with the color being green and for me green tea matcha is a vibrant green color, but for some reason it was hard to comprehend compared to the traditional brown color of cacao. People were won over once they allowed themselves to drop into the bliss and try this new creation, and it is awe inspiring to see people have such a powerful experience with our products. There is so much superfood information to share with people and it is so new to most, but what I find is they really are moved deeply by the taste and experience of our cacao. I'm feeling like our creations can speak to them on an intimate level, and when they are opened up by The Bliss Bar we can then enhance their knowledge about this superfood nutrition lifestyle.
Amazon Chocolate was a close second to Coconut Goji, and I am always touched deeply by Amazon because it gives me the opportunity to connect with others about the healing work we are involved with in the Amazon Rainforest. By far this one is the most mineral rich, nutrient dense, and packed with pristine Amazon Herbs that give you an experience to remember. It makes sense because raw Cacao and Amazon botanicals can merge together and synergistically enhance your nutritional intake and elevate your whole body temple. Historically Cacao was infused with various herbs and spices to create a cerebral euphoric experience, and here we are many years later following the footsteps of our ancestors. We are at a turning point right now in the chocolate industry where organic raw cacao is being created as medicinal chocolate by some like The Bliss Bar, and I believe we are here to recreate the way chocolate is made. I give thanks to the Shipibo Indians and The Amazon Herb Co. for inspiring me so deeply with their botanical medicine and reconnecting me to my soul's work.
Highlights of our other flavors like the Chia Mulberry Chaga unfolded with another heart centered chocolate maker named Nick. Nick was definitely feeling the love of this one primarily because of his deep fondness with chaga and how we kept munching away bar after bar to really feel this one's potential. Chocolate Goji is our original creation and is a crowd favorite because of the great goji berry and the sweet earthiness flavor profile of the Goji. I am always shocked that there are people out there that have never heard of goji's let alone most of these superfoods, and that's why I am here. Honey Gold closes out as our fifth flavor and we were able to share this protein rich berry and its tartness to so many. When someone tries a goldenberry for the first time it's always fun to watch their facial reaction to the sweet tartness of this superberry powerhouse. We are so grateful for the opportunity to craft these superfood medicinal chocolate energy bars, and we are creating a conscious ripple of transformation within the wellness industry.
We were impressed with the festival attendees feedback about how great it is to see an energy bar out there made with whole foods (SUPERFOODS), no fillers, no preservatives, and packed with nutrients. A majority of the people taste testing our product really enjoyed the different chocolate flavors, and then the experience they would feel afterwards, like being nourished. I will say that it helps to share the Bliss at events because you really get to connect and learn directly from so many, and then we can find areas in which to support their health lifestyle. At this Chocolate Festival I believe we ended up selling a full case of energy bars (22 units) to six different clients, and that was a great feeling that they were ready to give their body some blissfull nutrition.
We were given a featured time slot of 10 minutes to share our product and what we do for a living. Keval chose to represent the Bliss, and she shared her story about her path with this living food lifestyle. I believe she began her story around her summer of 2005 where she was inspired by David Wolfe's "Naked Chocolate" book, and how she lived primarily on raw cacao beans, goji berries, and a bit of salad greens for that summer. She decided she would carry cacao beans with her wherever she went, and she would share these magical beans with all she encountered. I am sure when anyone tried a cacao bean for their first time they were tapping into some deep seated mayan and oompa loompa wisdom, let alone the potency of taste these tiny beans impart. That year of 2005 turned out to be quite a synchronistic year for Keval and I where we were living very similar paths in two different parts of the cosmos, and then spirit helped bump us into each other that November. Very shortly after that meeting we were playing in the kitchen, and The Bliss Bar was beginning to take shape. Oh yes back to the Chocolate Fest, so Keval shared her summer journey, and then about the many hats we wear here at The Bliss Bar. She explained the nutritional benefits of our bars and how they can really help someone as a meal replacement, for an endurance sport, help support weight loss, sweet tooth cravings, and really to boost your intake of super mineral rich foods on a daily level. She also shared how we help so many of our clients with our health coaching practice, and how we teach others to implement easy and effective daily nutritional steps to begin their day as well as throughout their day. Keval wrapped up her talk blissing out the listeners with Coconut Goji Green Tea samples, and came back to our booth enlightened with the holy spirit.
I will say it was inspiring and fun to have a chocolate festival in our hometown, and we really were able to connect with so many new faces and share chocolate with a circle of raw chocolatiers that are really creating some amazing tasting cacao. I highly recommend coming to The Oregon Chocolate Festival next year, and I am seeing 12 raw chocolatiers there next time.
